I'm guest blogging today :-)

Back in June I won some stamps together with Sherri Funk, made by Close To My Heart (CTMH), sponsored by Elizabeth at Broken Treasures. She also sent me a CTMH Idea Book, with lots of lovely stamps.

Sherri and I did a twin blog post with the stamps we had won, and Sherri was a Guest blogger at Elizabeth's blog at the same time. Elizabeth liked what she saw, and invited me to blog post for her this month.


In the said idea book, I found some stamps which shouted my name, a stamp set with faux stitching: they are so versatile, and just so me.

How do you use your stamps?

Altered Youghurt Containers

One of my favourite snacks is Turkish or Greek Youghurt sprinkled with honey, nut and dried fruits. Have you ever tried it? It's so yummie and I love the thick texture of this youghurt, not like the thinner one we usually eat around here.These youghurts come in cute little buckets/containers.

Earlier this month DS9 was going to a birthday party to two of the girls in his class. It's quite common around her to invite the entire class, both boys and girls, but it's usally low cost parties with simple servings, and no huge themed parties, so you will not get ruined as long as you can provide the kids with some food and cakes.

On top of this girls wish list was cash. But it's soooo boring to just stuff the money in envelopes, so I decided to make some altered buckets to hide the money in. The youghurt containers were perfect for this purpose. MyScrapbookBook May Kit had lots of cute pink papers in it, and some pink trim, and as I normally don't scrap with pink, these items would fit my idea perfectly.

I added some flowers and more ribbons from my own stash and made these buckets in less than half an hour.

These buckets were a great succes to the girls (and their mums), so I'm happy I took the effort on making them. altered containers like this would be very suitable for boys, too, if in other colors, so I have collected a few more containers to alter for upcoming birthdays.

If you give money as gifts, how do you wrap them?

I have made this year's first Christmas gift!

In the July MyScrapbooknook there was a hinge. A cute, but rather big, cream hinge. I first thought of making a binder (boring!), but then I changed my mind and decided to make wall calender.

I made mine with what left of my July Kit, but I also used scraps from four older kits – in fact, all four of them are now completely gone from my pile (feels great – I got room for new stuff *lol*)


Making this calender was fun and I wrote a class for the Nook Forum on how to make it. Well, it's not exactly a class, but I have written down a few tips you might find useful if you want to make a wall calendar. You can find it here.

Happy Birthday, M!

I cannot believe my little boy is 11 years old already. I still can recall him beeing a baby and a toddler. But I admit I don't miss the early mornings, the diapers and the pram. Life with an eleven years old is so much easier.

M has had this long blond hear for a few years, and every time I have suggested a crew cut, he has been very determined about keeping his long hair. Until three weeks ago when he desided that enough was enough - he wanted short hair. So he had his hair cut.

Man, he was the talk of the week at school. His class mates were in complete shock and had spoken about this at home as if it was THE thing. Micheal Jackson returning would not have been talked about that much *lol*.

And I have spent a fortune on hair styling products so he can have the "right look".


So I give to you my first born, 11 years old on the 29th of October:




Did you notice the hanger? It's an altered trouser hanger from IKEA. Here is a close up (all materials from the MyScrapbooknook October Kit except hanger):




Oh, I almost forgot. I was cleaning up my scrap place the other day when I found a plastic bag from the hair dresser. I was to toss it away, but had a look in it, and what did I find? A sling from DS11's long hair. The hairdresser had given it to me as a keepsake, and I had forgotten all about it. I sometimes feel my brain has a non stick coating! And now I need to find some way to incorporate the sling to the finished layout above. Any suggestions?

Gift ideas! And lots of pink!

Last weekend we were invited to dinner with friends. The hostess really deserved a little extra for doing this - so I made her this gift set: a gift bag and some miniature cards.






It was her birthday, too, so I took the opportunity to make a feminin card (I do a lot of boy's cards so I really have a good time when I can use PINK!).




Talking about pink. DS7 was invited to a disco/birthday party to two of the girls in his class. Good for me, as I then could continue using pink for their money gift holders (I'll show just one). I made them so the young ladies still could use them as wall hangers when removing the money.







Some of my friends appreciates home made gifts. And as Christmas is approaching, I have made my first acrylic table calendar this year. I'm not sure who it's for yet - time will show :-)

Vimpler - banners

Vimpler er hot i scrappeverdenen akkurat nå - og jeg har hevet meg på bølgen. Minstebarnet trengte en dekorasjon på rommet sitt - og da lagde jeg en. Størrelse på hver vimpel : 12x20 cm

Banners are hot among the scrappers these days - and I am with them. DS7 needed a decoration for his room - so I made one. Each banner is apx 12x20 cm (4 3/4 x 8").

Pengebilde/Money holder

Pengegaver er populært blant 10-åringene, men å bare putte dem i en konvolutt er litt kjedelig. Så da scrapper vi dem istedenfor. Sedlene ligger bak glasset og er lette å ta ut. Rammene er klipsrammer fra IKEA og koster 29,- for 4 stykker i str 13*18 cm. Billig moro.

Money is a popular gift among the ten years olds. But just putting them in an envelope is so boring. So I scrapped them. The bills are behind the glass and easy to remove. The clip frames are from IKEA and cost like $5 for the four in size 13* 18 cm (apx 5 1/8 * 7 1/8 inch).

Vi skal sammen med svigerfar gi litt penger til jul til noen nevøer og nieser, men det er så gørrkjedelig å bare stappe dem i en konvolutt. Så jeg kjøpte noen klipsrammer, tok litt rester fra den store haugen og laget disse (hvis du ser etter er det lagt inn sedler bak glasset).

Together with FIL we're giving some money as Christmas gifts for some nieses and nephews. But just puting the bills in and envelope is so increadibly boring. So I bought some clip frames, grabed some stash frome my huge pile, and made these (if you have a good look, you will see there are bills behind the glass)

Moxie Tuesday Trigger is an inspiration challenge where we are trigged by a picture, a page or anything else. This weekend this is what we get as a trigger.






Med en gang jeg så bildet tenkte jeg "rosa juledekorasjon". Så da ble det en juledekorasjon med mye rosa. En stjerne. Det ultrakule er at min fetters datter på 10 er den som har lært meg å lage selve stjernen; den er så enkel å lage at 7-åringen min sitter å masseproduserer den om dagen.

When I saw the picture I immidiately thought "pink Christmas decoration". So I made a decoration with plenty of pink. A star. The coolest part is that my cousin's daughter, 10 years old, showed me how to make the base star. It is so easy to make that DS7 is mass producing it these days.

Fresh and funky

Jeg vant!!! /I won!!!!

Da har jeg fått kranglet i gang PC'en min - for en stund til. Jeg har levd med denne lunefulle PC'en et par år og det ser ut til at jeg nå har lokalisert feilen: et komponent går varmt (det har jeg visst lenge), men det holder ikke å bruke av-knappen - at det er spenning inn i kassa ser ut til at det holder seg varmt - hele skiten må kobles fysisk vekk fra strømnettet. Så fra nå av er det bare å røske ut stikkontakten når PC'en melder seg ut. Atter gangen er det meg som går seirende av med seieren (huskelapp: ikke glemme å ta backup i løpet av uken)

My computer tried to outsmart me - again - as it has tried several times during the two years I've owned it. One of the components gets over heated, but it isn't enough to turn the computer off - it has to be physically plugged off the wall - no electricity at all is the way to cool it down. Well, I figured it out, I'm standing tall, and I can continue living with this sh** for another year or so. Note to self: take back up this week
