Just For You Card

As I promised in yesterday's post, I'll introduce you to some of the fun card challenges we host at MyScrapBookNook.

Here is the card I created for the My Sentiments Exactly challenge:

A very simple card. All materials from the Nook March kit except white CS

Here is how the challenge goes: create a card or layout where the sentiment/title is the focus.

If you follow this link you will find some pinspo images and some more examples from the DT.

Do you want to play with us?
Come on over - you do NOT have to have the kit to participate!

Tuesday Giveaway - On A Wednesday (again)

So it happened again - my every day life hit me again and I didn't get a chance to put up this give away yesterday. Scheduling on Sunday, when life is slower? Nahhh, not an option *lol*

Anyway here is this week's give away:

Perfect for mascilin cards. Papers and stickers from SEI, the rest from here and there.

How to enter the drawing for this giveaway? It's super easy:
Just leave me a comment in this blog post before Saturday March 17th midnight GMT+1. The winner will be drawn by random on Sunday and you will have one week to claim your prize. Good luck!

PS. I promised I should have a giveaway every Tuesday until the end of April, but because decreasing numbers of participants, I'll change this to a monthly give away unless five participants or more this week. The new schedule will eventually start the first week of April.

Me, myself & I

I have been busy for a while and haven't payed much attention to challenges out in the cyber world for a while. But suddenly life got calmer, I have a mojo overload and all assignments are done, so when I spotted the march 1th challenge at Once Upon A Sketch, I wanted to do it.

The Journalling Criteria/Theme this time: All About Me!

The focus of your journalling and the theme of your layout has to be based on YOU and something/s that you are really good at. Don't be shy! We are all good at something as small or as big as it might be.

As you may know, I work as an engineer at construction sites. Believe me, there aren't many women in the business! No problem really, most of the men are great guys and I like the way they think and talk - stright forward. I imagine they don't see me as a woman either, but as a good co worker (even if I usualy wear a dress or skirt on Fridays, just to celebrate the difference *lol*).

I flipped the sketch, but still kept quite close to the original.

Patterned papers from MME The Bright Side Collection, the rest from here and there

The journaling goes like this: "I like to imagine I'm good at using both parts of myself: the masculine engineer part and the feminin girly part. And I chose to believe all people in my suroundings, both at home and at work, benefit on knowing both those parts".

The photo is taken on one of our construction sites where we are building a new highway.

This winter I split between beeing on site and working with QA and Safety for our head office. My new office is so empty and need some decorations, so I want to frame this layout and bring it there to add some color to the room. A while back we did a photo swap at MyScrapbookNook, and Pysselpetra scrapped the same photo for me (you can see her layout here). I'll keep her layout in my album and will take mine out of our house.

Some close up shots of my layout:

Thank you for taking your time to stop by!

Butterflies Galore

This week I'm doing the Designer Showcase at MyScrapbook Nook, focusing on repeated patterns.
I chose to focus on how to use the different butterflies featured in the March kit, and here is some examples I made for the class.

Pimp wooden butterflies with rubons!

Rub rubon butterflies to acetat to make your 3D embellishments!

Cut out butterflies from patterned paper and use the cut outs to wamp up your pages!

Cut out butterlies from patterned paper and put them on a string!

And here comes the fun part: Spend them all on one single page!

All materials from MyScrapbookNook march kit, featuring the MME Miss Caroline Collection
Layout title: Early spring? My lilacs on Sunday :-)

You find the entire article here - please visit to see examples from both me and forum members on how to use repeated patterns to make uniform looking layouts and cards.

What about you, do you like butterflies?
PS There are some Maya Road ones in this week's giveaway!

Tuesday Giveaway Winner + Nook Member Inspo Sketch

Hi!

Every month we do a Member Inspo Sketch Challenge at MyScrapbookNook: we pick out a member layout from the Nook Gallery, draw a sketch from it and challenge our readers to create a project inspired by the sketch.
As soon as the challenge is closed, the DT will pick a winner who gets the opportunity to guest design for the next month's sketch challenge.

For February we picked a layout by Scrapping_in_AK, and I drew this sketch from it:

Got to love my fancy drawing program *lol*

And here is my example for the challenge, using the fabolous February kit featering the OA Sasparilla Collection. What a fun collection to work with - I just love the color and the patterns!

Title: "Trying Out Everything". About DS12 trying out squash this season
