Lille Ask's Blog Candy + RAK Winner

You don't find many links to blogcandies on this site, but I'll do one exeption for Lille Ask. Lille Ask makes the coolest, most colorful layouts, just the way I wish I could do mine. Visit her blog to boost your mojo. She's crazy btw, this is what she's giving away.

A Mustangkayla was the only one to answer the to questions I asked in my post on thursday, she is the obvious winner of my RAK. Congrats!

Kort, kort kort - cards, cards, cards

With two boys in our house, I hardly ever get the chance to make cards with lots of pink. So when two of the girls in DS6's class invited the whole class to celebrate their birthdays, I grabbed the opportunity.

Did you know sketches for layouts can be used for cards, too? These cards were made with one of the September Sketches from Crafting In Style (CIS). The bases of the cards are made with Prima Journaling Cards - they are perfect for this.

Talk to me Jerry, talk to me

Did your ever visit http://icanhascheezburger.com/ ? Funny pictures of cats and dogs and with hysterical captions. Inspired by this site, and with help from sketch challenge #26 at Skissedilla, I made this layout. It's about Ponky catching her first (?) mouse.

Last day at the Caardvark Sketchfest :-(

For the last week I have made at least one card a day: card I neeed: birthday cards, a Christmas card, mini cards etc. The sketches have been so great working with - my mojo is at high level.

Today's card is quite simple - as the most of my cards. There are few elements and I don't use much embellies. Why? Beacuase I am a kind of lazy *lol* Did you notice I often distress the edges on the layers? I think it look great and add structure to the card - and it is so easy: I just use my scissors.

Here is this weeks' last sketch from Caardvarks:

And here is my card. The metal tag says "Vie" - "Life" in French and it is from a decoration on a large candle. I love recycling.

Thank you for looking!

Caardvark Sketchfest Friday

Finally Friday and the weekend. Yeah!
Among parties and shopping hopefully there will be time for some outdoor activities and some scrapping.

When I saw today's sketch I immidiately thought "Christmas Card"! Why not? It's not to early to start on the Christmas cards, is it?

Caardvark Sketchfest Thursday

Another day at the Caardvark Sketchfest!

Today I've made a card for our friend Frode who is celebrating his birthday on Saturday.

I have a little challenge for you and there is a RAK included: Post a comment and answer the two questions below. I let the kids draw a random name on Saturday at noon GTM :-)

Question #1: Wich year was Frode born?
Question #2: What kind of sport is Frode doing?

If' you don't have a clue, call his mum, or try googling him, for the answers

Anyway - Thursday's sketch

Caardvark Sketchfest Tuesday

Norsk nederst på siden

DS10 was going to a birthday party this afternoon. I have a large stack of cards, for every occation, but there was only ONE boy's card left! How come? I make boy's cards all the time! Where do they go? Do somebody eat them?

So to be prepared, I better make some more boy's card. My guess is that DS7 is next to be invited to a birthday card so therefore a card for a seven year old boy.

The Caardvark sketch:

My card:

Krise avverget, puh.

Caardvark Sketchfest

Over hos Caardvark er det skissefest: nye kortskisser hele uken.

Over at Caardvarks, there is a sketch fest going on: new card sketches every day for a whole week.

Right now I'm making an effort the get rid of some scraps, and by the way, I need some small cards. The Caardvark sketch is perfect for a 3.5"*3.5" card.

Emilie Arnheim has a great blogpost at WriteClickScrapbook about how to mix bold patterned papers in scarpbboking. She has among others tips about color choice and how to mix different patterns. I wanted to try this out, but as a help to focus on the tecnique, and don't have to worry about design, I made Scoobiesketch #2.

By the use of Emilie's principles I made this layout (read here about it). I found I dared to use combinations of colors and patterns I never done earlier.

I think this worked out great and wanted to give it a second shot, but this time I wanted to use a landscape orientationed photo. Scoobiesketch #3 is really nothing but a twisted sketch #2.

Vurder selv...
Flower patterned papers and a picture from an august storm, can this combination work? It's up to you to judge.

Skissedilla #25

I fell in love with this sketch: the way the shaped paper was cut, the placement of the pics and the flowers.

I had to give it a try, and her is my take. The flowers are a metal decoration, bought on sale at Panduro in a weak moment. I was right - I could use them on a layout, and I belive it matches the papers from SEI and 7Gypsies perfectly.

The journaling is about 20. August, the date it's no longer mandatory to keep the dogs in lieche, and how we the can use the woods differently.

Sopp - mushrooms

The advantage of rainy summers are all the mushrooms in the autumn. I have never before seen so much chanterelles in my secret spot.

First layout for Crafting In Style

Da er september her og jeg har levert mitt første bidrag som medlem av Crafting In Styles Skisseteam.

September is here and I have made my first layout as a member of Crafting In Style's Sketch Team.

Sjekk denne flotte skissen laget av Krissy
Check out this great sketch made by Krissy

Og her er mitt løsningsforslag.
And here is my take on the sketch:

Come on over and have a look at all the great sketches at CIS and see what the sketch team have done with it. Why not use the sketch yourself and show it to us at the CIS forum? There is a even a prize to win.
