I admit it - staying one week at the Canary Islands last week (the winter break) didn't hurt at all: 22-25 degrees C, lovely hotel with plenty of activities for the kids too, sunshine, pools etc etc. We didn't drive much round this time, but at least we got outside the hotel area

The hotel offered a huge breakfast buffet every morning, but I'm not sure I agree with my kid's definition on a tasteful breakfast: fried potatoes and donuts...

Last summer I bought the SEI summer collection On the Coast. I assumed there would be plenty of beach and sea photos to scrap, but in fact - I wasn't on the beach once - so the papers have mbeen more or less untouched. But now I picked them up again, as they are perfect for the winter break photos! The layout is btw made with this sketch from SEI.

Webster's + EuroDisney = True

I still haven't scrapped all my photos from last year's trip to EuroDisney, Paris, but I'm slowly getting there :-)

The Webster's Pages papers in MyScrapbookNook's February kit was perfect for both highlighting the beauty of the park itself, and all the rhododendrons in bloom, as well as all the stuff you could buy there:

Oh, just for your information - this blog will have noe updates for the next week - I'll be on the Canary Islands soaking some sun. Lucky me!

Super easy masculine cards

There is a trend in my masculine cards - most of them are easy to make. But still there is one detail that makes them different from most cards bought in a shop - they are not completely flat.

Here are a few things you can add to your cards to add some interest and dimensions:

-buttons
-pearls
-chipboard
-fiber/ribbons/trim
-3D foam

All the cards in this post are made in a minute when you have an idea about the design. And in my opinion those stripy papers are perfect for easy cards. A stripy paper, a few more neutral ones and some dimesional embellies - that's all you need.

Or?

masculin cards day 2

Hi again!

Did you enjoy yesterday's cards and idea? Working with coordinationg papers is a great way to make multiple cards - you don't have to spent any effort on find The Right Paper. And with orders as big as this one, you need to shrink the time you spend on each card.

So I made the embellies and did all the designing on yesterday's card, but I got tired of it and needed something new to keep me going. I'm a big sketch fan so I browsed a few card sketch blogs to see if I could find one wich would kick start me. And I found this at Card Position Systems:

So I grabbed a 6*6 pad with some papers from Kaiserkraft, and lucky me! On the last page there were some ready made die cuts that were perfect for this sketch. All I needed to add was some numers and little extras from my stash. So here is my takes on the sketch and the spin offs from it.

Stay tuned. Tomorrow I'm going to show some very simple card where using the patterns makes it all!

Herrekort - Masculin cards

Do you struggle with them, too? Do you, like me, find it easier to make feminin cards? And when you don't know any thing about the receiver so the card has to be quite generic? Help...

I have a card order which is rather challenging. I am supposed to make 30 cards and 70% have to be masculin cards. That is 21 cards for men! And none can be just alike...

I am done with all the masculine cards and this week I am going to show how I have thought and worked to make it. So feel free to pop into this blog each day to see new cards. May be you can get some inpiration and ideas?

I Struggle with the design some times, I have the feeling I repeat myself. Dani Reid, the Card Diva over at MyScrapbooknook, showed us (here) how to make your own embellies and challenged us to do the same. I thought it could be a great twist on how I make my cards , I usually start with the design and finsih with the embellies, and that this approach might give a variation in designs.

Noen av kortene jeg lagde, ser du over, her noen fler.

So I grabbed a Webster's Pages 6*6 paper pad from The Nook's ad on section, and dug into my pile of buttons, alphas and other small pieces and startet cutting. I also used a QK star die cut. Some of the cards are above, here is a few more:

Kom gjerne innom.

Tomorrow I'll show how a card sketch is my starting point for a few more masculine cards. Please come and visit!

Scrapping on a Sunday/ Scrapping på en søndag

I had no intention to scrap this weekend. But then Zarah had to celebrate her 25.000 chatty posts over at MyScrapbookNook by throwing a few sketches and some challenges - and I couldn't resist. So I scrapped.

Her et skilt fra EuroDisney i mai 2010:

In I few weeks I'm taking a week off and will spend it soaking sun somewhere else. May be it's time to scrap last year's vacation photos before I take new ones? Here is a sign from EuroDisney, May 2010

Crocodiles... hmm... uhhh... OK

Jo du lager dine egne i papir. Lille gullet...

What do you do when your mum doesn't allow you to buy real weapons? You make your own in paper. DS8 is a creativ guy: he googles images of real weapons and make his own paper models. My cute little boy...
