I haven't scrapped a layout in three weeks (!!!).
I have created though, working on my card skills, enjoying the fabolous card challenges Danni and Jessy has come up with at MyScrapbooknook.
But when I saw this lovely sketch made by Katarina for the Member Inspo Sketch Challenge, I just couldn't resist - I got the urge to do a layout.
So I pulled out photos from our Easter trip to Kiel (Germany) and created this layout, using the Nook April Kit, featering Crate Papers Story Teller collection:
Some details:
Can you see by the kids' experessions it wasn't a hot, warm day in Kiel?

Folded Mini Album Tutorial
Hi.
Do you ever make mini albums?
I don't do them often, but some times I have a happening to tell about, and my photos are too many, or I have too much to tell, to fit it into a layout, even two pager. Mini albums are perfect for those occations!
I'm going to show you a folded mini album, but first I must show you some fun stuff that arrived on my door step yesterday:
I have dug through the papers, and there are papers perfect for masculine layouts and cards, too!
And I got the May Grab Bag, too, with more fabolous Echo park This'n That papers, the more masculine range. Make sure to read about the fabolous May offer below the photo!
Now, back to the Mini Album.
I made this 3*6" album with the Nook April Kit, featuring Crate Paper Story Teller.
When you unfold it, it looks like this:
Are you curious about how I made it/folded?
I have a complete tutorial at the Nook Forum, you are more than welcome to visit to see :-)
Do you want to give it a try?

Playing with hexagons
Life has been busy over the past weeks and there hasn't been much time to sit down and scrap. But I have felt in the mood for beeing crafty, so plunging into card making again, has been my solution.
I had enjoyed making cards for the challenges over at My ScrapbbokNook (I'll post about them later this week) and the April challenge at the MME blog started me to dig into som fuzzy hand cutting again.
The MME challenge is all about displaying hexagons. You find the pattern all over and I have seen designers do some marvellous stuff with the shapes. I haven't really plunged into exploring the possibilities the hexagons give, so I started nice and easy with making this card.
And what's more appropriate when you showcase geometric shapes, than using a quote about arithmetics?
Thank you for taking your time to visit.
Tell me, what is your favourite shape right now?

Nookers have more fun - IRL, too :-)
One of the fun things about scrapping and the world wide web, is that you learn to know people from all over the world. And some of them you get to actually meet IRL as well.
Last year Anna Sigga (Iceland) popped in when she was in the neighbourhood and a month ago the fabolous Pysselpetra (Sweden) and her family stayed at the Scoobie mansion when they where heading for the Norwegian mountains. For the record, they are both Nook Girls.
So we all had a great time: the kids had some slight language issues in the beginning, but sorted it out quickly, we had great food, talked and laughed a lot.
And the next morning we took a walk to the beach to burn some energy before they started on their 5 1/2 h car trip.
These photos, and this happening, is scrap worthy, don't you think?
I used them for my April Two pager class at My ScrapbookNook, using the April Kit featuring Crate Paper Story Teller. For a step by step tutorial, please head over to the free class, to see more.
Having friends from all over the world is a blessing, and I'm sure there are more people to see, over the years to come.
Have you have the chance to meet any of your scrappy friends IRL?

Why I havent blogged lately...
Because I took my family to a mini cruise to Kiel (Germany) on the first days of Easter Break last week.
In the middle of the sea back home, we had the phone call you don't want while you're on vacation. My FIL, who lives with us, had been in a car accident and was in hospital.
He's one tough coockie, my FIL. He broke some ribs, needed a neck surgery to avoid paralyzes, but on Saturday he was up on his feet again and on Monday he came home.
He still needs a lot of help, though. I leave home early for work, but pops in to him before I go to see if he needs anything.
Mix this happening with crazy days at work, two kids who needs help with home work, a husband who needs to take a lot of the hours in the shop himself, a husband who probably has been worried sick about his father that he snores so bad at night that I needed to move to the coach in the living room (yeah for three hours sleep at night a few days in a row). Did anyone mention every chores like laundry, cooking, grocery shopping etc?
But I'm hanging in, and today hubby came home early, picked the kids up after schools and made me dinner. It felt like a day off!
FIL, 80 years old |
So this is why I haven't blogged.
But things normalize and I feel the energy is coming back.
Give me two more easy days, and I will be like a Duracell Bunny!
So to celebrate my new energy, I have a little something for you!
