The Truth About Motherhood!

Large parts of the world celebrates Mother's day in May (but not the Norwegians, off course. We do it in February...). The scrapping world challenge blogs celebrate Mums this month, which makes me feel pretty miserable when this is how I feel about motherhood right now:

Chipboard: Imaginarium Designs

Oh, I envie the designers with pretty little girls, lots of photos which show love between mother and child and all I have is two spoiled brats and a mother I don't get along with very well... I'm the biggest looser ever!

I could of course pick a photo of one of my kids and tell a story about how much I love them (which I really do), but right now that would not express what I want to say - and as I scrap for recording the family history I find it important to write down how the kids' mum felt about them spring 2012. I wonder if they will remember, in twenty years, our endless discussions about doing homework or if they just will remember the happy days. here I have proof it wasn't sunshine all the time.

Wood Veener: Studio Calico

I got the idea for this layout when I saw the Once Upon A Sketch May challenge and sketch.

Theme: Mum

We would like you to create a layout and interpret the theme "Mum" however you like based on the following sketch. You can journal as little or as much as you like, but your layout must incorporate this theme and the sketch.

Sketch:

My take on the challenge. I have flipped the sketch and moved the journaling , but except for that been pretty true to the sketch.

Patterned papers: MME Indie Chic

Another detail shoot:

Thank you for taking your time to stop by. Would you please do me a favor and make me feel even more miserable as a mum: tell me I'm the only one in this world who feel like this, and that for you motherhood is exactly as the glossy magazines say: all mums have energy to make cinnamon rolls - always.

Have a happy week :-)

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG Hilde! You are SO funny and just SO SO honest! Well done. I take my hat of to you *BAD* mother. Oh Hilde I cannot for the life of relate to what you are talking about at all. My life is so perfect and my kids do what they are told all the time. LOL. Gotchaaaaa. AS IF children like that exist. They do not Hilde. What exists are good mothers who are normal like you , who have bad days because they are human and have emotions. Mothers that are not robotic because if they feel NOTHING on the bad days than they feel NOTHING on the good ones either. Trust me! No i do not claim to be the worlds best mother. I mostly love my girls..but...the truth about motherhood is the every day grind that just gets you and some days you just do not feel like getting up and being a mother. Which is just such a contradiction when we go through hell just to have children and want them so much. But like I said before..we are human too!

I also made a layout like this and called it "the truth about the bad days" a few years back now because it is important for the kids to know these details. Its not all love and a rosy picture is it? You should just hear me in the morning trying to put on Maria's uniform while Ioanna is running circles around me !!! You would freak! LOL!

So thank you so much for being normal and making me feel normal and all I will tell you is that kids go through stages and the bad days pass..the bad weeks pass..the bad years pass and in the end what you discover is that you have loved your children unconditionally after all . Nothing anything our kids do will ever make us love them less and we dont realise this till after we have weathered their storm.

Now..I better go and join in the screaming downstairs LOL!

THANK YOU so much for playing along with us at OUAS :)
