Biker Chick

The title of the page is impossible to translate into English. The closest I get is Biker Chick, but the kids really aren't biking....

Patterned papers: Basic Grey &v Echo Park. Alpha: AC/Amy Tangerine. Wooden veener: Studio Calico.
Flair: Ormolou. The rest: unknown

DS12 met this swedish girl in Corfu in August - and they still keep in touch via FB, Skype and SMS. I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to his phone bill this month *lol*

The photo was taken in the dark with an iPhone, so the quality isn't the best. But who cares, it's all about recording the memories, right?

This layout was made a while back for a color challenge on an FB group: Use fall colors.
I just love how this turned out!

Do you ever do color challenges?

mm... Mais! / Yummie.. Corn!

One of the advantages of living in the country side, is that we have access to fresh vegetables large part of the year, just within biking distance: some the local farmers have shops and some let you pick straight from the fields.

You must admit it: corn tasts best in the corn field!

Patterned paper: Basic Grey Origin. Mistable banners: Heidi Swapp (colored with Zig pens). Alpha: Bella Blv.
Twine: Pink Paisley. Buttons: unknown
Original design: Artful Delight September sketch

Do you everhave the chance to get fresh vegetables?

Family Portrait

Hi!

Have you ever been on vacation (or somewhere else) when somebody sticks up a camera in your face, to sell the photo to you later on? It happened to us outside our hotel in Corfu - as so many places before that.

It's very, very rare my family get to take family portraits, so I grabbed the opportunity when I saw the photo was of a decent quality (ok, not of a very hig standard, but good enough). But I became a bit surpriced when the photographer printed out such a large photo. Hello, I haven't scrapped large photos in ages!

Anyway, here we are, the family:

Somebody should tell DS9 he gets double cheeks when he smiles like that!

I got the idea for this layout when I saw this week's sketch at the Basic Grey blog. Originally the sketch was designed as a two pager, but I chose to use only the left part of it.

Do you, like me, have collections you love so much that you refuse to toss out the scraps, or never get tired of it? I do, and one of them is the Basic Grey (BG) Hello Luscious. I just love the happy colors which shouts Summer! at me. I have used this collection on this page, and added some rubons from BG Origin, one of my other favourites.

PS, One wich the photographer would you use a better flash. See how much darker we adults become because we are further away from it? Not that I mind having a dark tan, but it looks a kind of weird...

Are you good at having family portraits taken?

Good Looking

DS9 last week.
Quite good looking in my, his mum's, eyes :-)

Background paper: BG, other patterned papers, tags & paper man: Pretty Little Studio, Felt embellies: Charm's Creations, Epoxy buttons: Epiphany Craft (paper: Pretty Little Studio), Star pins: Inkido, Ribbon & twine: unknown

I wasn't going to scrap today, but decided to have some computer time to catch up on new releases after CHA. I was browsing around, and on the Pretty Little Studio blog I found this cool sketch. Mojo kicked in, and I wanted to play :-) So I played with their Monsieur collection, adding a few items from my own stash.

I showed my layout to DS9, asking about his opinion, and he claimed to be very, very happy with it :-)
He's so cute.

The Runaway Bride

Kiwi, our budgie, managed to get out into open air last Saturday.
How sad, we never expected to get her back, even if we heard her on occations when her buddy, Fluffy, called for her. After all, she was just eight weeks old and not completely tamed yet.

The following Monday night I heard her again - the next morning she flew in the door in the living room. Oh happy day!

Title: A Taste Of Freedom
Journaling: The short version of the first two articles in this post

Here she is, happy in our walnut tre:

PP, rubons & cut out: Basic grey, Authentic croched doilie, flash card: October Afternoon, alphas: adornit and American Craft, Raw chipboard: Imaginarium Designs, calendar card: Jenni Bowlin,  canvas tags: Maya Road, clay bird: MyLittleShopOfWhimsey, Twine & paper tape: unknown

This layout was made with this lovely sketch I found at the Pagemaps Blog. I have had some trouble with Mr Mojo, and this sketch was just what I needed to get me started. It was fun to finally pull out some old papers and a mix of embellies and just create!

Some close up shots:

Thank you for taking your time to stop by. I really appreciate it!

Tell me, have you ever lost and found any of your pets?

The Ultimate Guide To Getting Cuddles

  1. Look cute
  2. Look cute
  3. Look cute

Link to layout: http://scrapstreet.com/ss12/ap12/funny2.htm
I hade the design ready for this photo, and the title, but when I read The Weekly challenge on the Basic Grey Blog, I added the idea of using torn edges. The challenge also include handwriting, but as mine is very private, I have choses to write it down on the back of the layout. If you have seen some of my previous work, you know I often hand write on my layouts, like this one I did for last week's BG challenge, so hand writing isn't a big challenge for me anymore.

Materials on this layout:
  • Back ground pp: BG Basics Collection
  • Other pp: BG Max & Whiskers, one of my fav lines for masculine layouts
  • Alphas: BG + AC
  • Orange ornaments/page runner set: Charms Creations

Thank you for stopping by, and don't forget to foolow my brother's guide on how to get cuddles :-)

Ghost Poop And A Letter To My Pets

Dear RL Scoobie dog and Ponky Cat!

When I say move, it means go someplace else, not switch positions with each other so there are still two of you in the way.

The dishes with the paw print are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack.Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help, because I fall faster than you can run.

We cannot buy anything bigger than a king size bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue to sleep on the couch to ensure your comfort. Look at videos of dogs and cats sleeping, they can actually curl up in a ball. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space used is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, try to turn the knob, or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. In addition, I have been using bathrooms for years, canine or feline attendance is not mandatory.

The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dog's butt. I cannot stress this enough. It would be such a simple change for you.

To pacify you I have posted the following message on our front door:

Rules for Non-Pet Owners Who Visit and Like to Complain About Our Pets:

1. They live here. You don't.
2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture.
3. I like my pet a lot better than I like most people.
4. To you, it's an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly.
5. Dogs and cats are better than kids. They eat less, don't ask for money all the time, are easier to train, usually come when called, never drive your car, don't hang out with drug-using friends, don't smoke or drink, don't worry about buying the latest fashions, don't wear your clothes, don't need a gazillion dollars for college, and if they get pregnant, you can sell the results.

xoxo Hilde

Journaling: "I just walked down the street, and I must have stepped into something without noticing and sudedenly this stuff was just clinging to my legs. I swear: I saw nothing there. Scoobie 7 YO, January 2012

This layout is mainly a "Just because" layout, but I also had the Basic Grey Weekend Challenge in mind when I created it. The challenge goes like this: Double up!  Use papers/embellishments from at least two BasicGrey lines, two photos and a two word title.

I might have stretch the challenge a tiny, little bit by using embellishments from other manufactorers, but the challenge didn't say I couldn't, did it? The papers are from the Picadally line and the Little Black dress line. The rest is non BG items. But in addition to having papers from two difefrent lines, I do have two photos and a two word title!

All materials are from Stop And Scrap's January Kit

Thank you for stopping by and looking at my work :-)

Pepperkakeborg - Gingerbread Castle

Når man ikke får lagd pepperkakehus FØR jul, ja da får man lage borg etter jul.

When we never got to make a gingerbreadhouse BEFORE Christmas, well. then we made a castle AFTER the holidays
